RISD enjoys tremendous synergy with Providence, the “creative capital” of Rhode Island. Home to seven colleges and universities, the city is very student-centric—especially on College Hill where RISD and Brown share neighboring campuses. Offering eclectic neighborhoods, excellent restaurants and historic architecture, it is also home to a vibrant community of artists and designers, including many alumni who make significant contributions within the local arts scene and creative industries.
